Opening day for the 11th Annual Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF), beginning December 4th2014, is just around the corner and the international filmmakers can not wait to get to The Bahamas for the festivities and the gorgeous weather. Founder & Executive Director Leslie Vanderpool and Technical Director Karim Duran advise The Bahamas that the countdown is on during a live broadcast of popular radio show “Reality Check” with Chrissy Love, live from the BIFF Lounge downtown next to the Hilton Hotel and across from the US Embassy.
Leslie Vanderpool stated that BIFF’s aim is to bring Hollywood and the World to The Bahamas in a 11 day celebration of Cinema. She invited all Bahamians to come on a ‘moviecation’ on December 4th through 14th, highlighting the many affordable options to see BIFFs 96 films. For more information visit www.bintlfilmfest.com. Tickets to BIFF Films at Melia Hotel and Galleria JFK are $3 and $5 or Free for students and seniors with ID.
Listeners also got chances to win tickets to the opening and closing night affairs via on air trivia questions. BIFF invited participating filmmakers from around the world to call in and take listeners on a virtual world tour with highlights of their films. Filmmakers and films at BIFF are from nations as diverse as Ethiopia, Japan, China, USA, Canada, and of course The Bahamas. All filmmakers shared an enthusiasm for participating in this year’s BIFF, and excitement to see the beautiful Bahamas and meet other filmmakers from around the world.
