All JFK Galleria JFK and Melia Hotel Screenings Will Be   Free   to Students & Seniors with ID.   Tickets for general public are $3 Thursday & Friday, $5 Saturday & Sunday


Opening Night Film, Friday, December 5 at 7:30pm LIKE SUNDAY LIKE RAIN, starring Debra Messing, admission $20.00

Opening Night Party, Friday, December 5 at 10pm MOTOWN FEVER, at Royal Towers Fathmos, admission $30.00

Looking to cast some good news and extend good will toward the local Bahamian community and film-going public, the Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) today announced that tickets for the highly anticipated 2014 edition will be slashed and FREE! to students and Senior Citizens with ID. The exciting announcement was made today by BIFF Founder and Executive Director, Leslie Vanderpool.


All BIFF screenings held at the JFK Galleria and Melia Hotel will be open to the public at $3 or $ 5. Festival screenings begin on Thursday, December 4thand run through Sunday, December 7thwith exciting events December 8thand December 9thbefore moving on to Harbour Island from December 10th– 14th


Commenting on the decision for this year’s Festival, Vanderpool said, “This is a move that reflects our desire to engage the local community and remove any barrier that may have prevented someone from seeing an amazing film that, if it weren’t for the festival, they would not have the opportunity to see.


Ultimately, the Bahamas International Film Festival exists for the people of The Bahamas to have access to enjoy the best independent cinema from around the world. We hope that by providing tickets at no cost or at low cost, more guests will be able to share the BIFF experience and become more deeply involved with the Festival.”


Vanderpool added, “This year’s festival is already shaping up to be the most dynamic and exciting festivals yet. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy something that they’ve helped to build. There’s no excuse not to come to the movies now!”


The public has the opportunity to see over 90 amazing, critically acclaimed films, including features, shorts, documentaries, and animation from around the world. BIFF has become the most important cultural and social event of The Bahamas.
