“For 15 years, we have worked with over 1000 young Bahamians of varying ages to develop an interest in film making and to impart the skills involved,” says Leslie Vanderpool, BIFF’s founder and executive director.

In addition to offering a public Film Workshop, BIFF will be teaching students from the following Schools and Institutes:


A.F. Adderley
R.M. Bailey
D.W. Davis
Columbus Primary School 
Senior Citizens Charity
Bahamas Correctional Facility


BIFF Staff and the University of Georgia’s esteemed Film department will assist with the teachings.

The Bahamas International Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the local Bahamian community and international visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. In addition to offering films that might not otherwise be released theatrically in the Bahamas, BIFF will provide a unique cultural experience and set of educational programs and forums for exploring the past, present and future of cinema.
