Screenwriters Residency Program 2016

 Back by popular demand!  The Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) is proud to announce the return of its popular Screenwriters Residency Program with University Of Georgia and Jib Polhemus of Source Management and Production.

 

The Screenwriters Residency Program provides screenplay writers from around the world the opportunity to receive invaluable mentoring from industry professionals and compete for a cash prize presented to the first, second and third place winners sponsored by Jib Polhemus of Source Management and Production.

 

Our impressive lineup of industry Mentors will provide a creative residency for the 2016 participants. We are honored to have an esteemed group Mentors presiding over this year’s Screenwriters’ Residency Industry, which includes:

 

Kurt Wimmer: Total Recall, Point Break, Equilibrium, Salt, Law Abiding Citizen

Susan Batten: Award winning writer "Showing Roots" and Actress

Jib Polhemus: The Expendables 2, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The Mechanic, Wild Card

Christine Swanson: Award Winning filmmaker: For The Love Of Ruth; To Hell and Back

The 2016 BIFF Screenwriters’ Residency Program seeks to nurture new filmmakers and screenwriters by providing them with four full days with accomplished professionals who make a living working in the industry. Screenwriters and Mentors will come together with one-on-one meetings throughout the four days. In addition to the Residency there will be Roundtables and Workshops for participants and festival guests to learn from an impressive cross-section of experts.

 

BIFF Founder and Executive Director Leslie Vanderpool said, “The Screenwriters Residency Program is an intimate environment to host one of my favorite programs, screenwriters are nurtured in one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world in Harbour Island.”
